Hundreds gathered at the Zoo Park amphitheatre in the capital for the second volume of the Heal Our Land gospel concert over the weekend.
The concert aims to bring the nation together, raise awareness and remind everyone about the love of God that is able to help us conquer all our troubles, anxiety, and fears as a nation.
The gospel concert which took place under the theme ‘Hope in times of despair’, saw international performances such as Joshua Jansen, Lebo Sekgobela, Manda Gabriel, and Dumi Mkokstad.
Meanwhile, local artists that took the stage are Sovita Joshua, Maranatha Goroh, Uvatera, Pride Panashe, Dee’A, D Naff, Vuuyo Johnson, Lala Sakeus, and Clive Willemse.
Following the first concert held in 2020, Joseph said the jam-packed concert went according to plan.
“People came in big numbers and it was all great with worshipping and praising.”
Heal Our Land director Joseph Gabriel called on the nation to attend the next Heal Our Land gospel concert.
“Healing of the land needs to be uplifted so that with the little they get from the concert they are able to sustain, especially when it comes to people that are affected by poverty and hunger,” he added.
Ndilimeke Nambinga, chairperson of the Heal Our Land concert while speaking to New Era newspaper the concert’s name derives from the foundation’s name, the Heal Our Land Foundation.
This, she said is a faith-based organisation that seeks God’s face using music as a unifier and a form of worship.
“Another significant aspect to mention is that the concert allows the necessary platform to show the talent and craft of Namibian gospel musicians and artists,” she said.
The first edition of the ‘Heal our land’ concert was held in 2020 to bring the Namibian public together to educate and remind them about the love of God. It was headlined by award-winning South African gospel stars Dumi Mkokstad and Zaza Mokhethi. Other local artists, among them Abner Mumbala, Vuuyo Johnson, Esmee, Jux Adolf, Sovita Joshua, and D-Naff took to the stage.
