Erastus Haitengela has been appointed executive director at the ministry of sport, youth and national service, taking over from Audrin Mathe who has moved over to the ministry of information, communication and technology.
The appointment has been carried out by the Prime Minister on the recommendation of the Public Service Commission in terms of the Public Service Act, 1995 (Act No. 13 of 1995).
“Mr Haitengela is appointed for a fixed term contract of five years, effective from 1 August 2022. He has over 10 years’ experience in the private sector and served as deputy executive director in the Office of the Prime Minister since 2012, before transferring to the Office of the President in 2015 in the similar fashion,” secretary to cabinet, George Simataa in a statement.
Simataa said the Prime Minister has on the recommendation of the Public Service Commission approved the transfer of Mathe to MICT for the remainder of his contract, effective 1 August 2022.
Former MICT E.D, Mbeuta Ua-Ndjarakana, has also moved over to the office of the Prime Minister in the department of the cabinet secretariat with effect from 1 August 2022 until he retired at 60 in May 2023.
