Police arrested a 15-year-old boy from Okatope in the Omuntele area for raping a five-year-old girl at Oshilunga village on Friday.
The teenager is said to have entered the house where the girl was sleeping after her grandmother had left her with siblings.
The girl was taken to Onandjokwe State Hospital for medical attention.
Another rape was reported in Katutura, where a 16-year-old girl was sexually molested in Okahandja Park Sunday morning.
According to the police, the girl’s cousins forced her to visit the suspect at his house. Once at the house, the suspect lured the girl into the house, where he produced a knife and threatened her before he raped her.
Police are yet to arrest the suspect.
A woman (30) stabbed her ex-boyfriend in Wanaheda on Friday evening.
Police said the girl stabbed her ex-boyfriend after an argument involving her current boyfriend. They also said the current boyfriend gave the woman the Okapi knife used.
Both the woman and her new boyfriend were arrested.
Augustinus Mandanda (15) hanged himself on Friday afternoon at Dagbreek Post 1 in Khorixas.
Mandanda went to herd goats in the morning but did not return home. His elder brother went to look for Augustinus when the goats returned home alone.
He did not leave a suicide note.
A cattle herder aged 21 was electrocuted on Friday afternoon at Ou-Cordon village in Mururani, Kavango East.
Police said the herder climbed on the electricity pole before he was electrocuted. As a result, he fell from the pole and died. His body was transported to the Rundu mortuary for Autopsy.
His next of kin was by Sunday not yet informed.
Batista Kahandja committed suicide on Friday at Mukwe Kavango East.
Kahandja’s body was found around 16h30 after he had left home in Katenture village in the morning.
Police said they do not suspect foul play, and Kahandja did not leave a suicide note.
A soldier, Abisai Hiwanifilwa, hanged himself on Saturday morning at Ondjondjo village in Okatana Constituency of the Oshana region.
Hiwanifliwa (37) was based at Grootfontein Army Base and was on sick leave when he killed himself.
Some people fetching firewood found Hiwanifilwa’s body, and they alerted the police. He did not leave a suicide note.
