The Metal and Allied Namibia Workers Union (MANWU) has said tat RCC/TEICHMANN employees who had been earmarked for retrenchment finally got their allowance payments for the 3 days as agreed between the union and JV management.
Eagle FM had reported on the Early Morning Scoop that more than 100 workers were set to be retrenched without a payment deal as the JV management was refusing to negotiate with the union.
“All affected employees will return to their homes and wait for the final stage of the retrenchment negotiations between the union and JV management. When workers are united no one can divide them.”
“The situation is back to normal until further notice. We thank the Regional Governor of Omaheke, NUNW Secretary General and the Constituency Councillor for the support provided to these workers today,” said MANWU.
