NANDI-NDAITWAH SADDENED BY KKs DEATH

Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, Namibia’s minister of international relations, says that one of the grandchildren of the former president had called to confirm the passing to her.
She recalls that it was with official SWAPO duty that gave her the opportunity to meet this iconic leader.
“He was one of the past leaders who have really driven the continent to its independence. And, he also made his contributions to the liberation struggle of Namibia. I had the privilege to meet him in Lusaka.”
Nandi-Ndaitwah also remembers his humanist behaviour and influence.
“He had great trust and belief in his fellow humans and their contributions,” she added.
The best way to mourn the legacy of Kaunda, she added, is to strive to make efforts in developing the continent further.
“The Africa free trade agreement is one of those aspects that Kaunda would be proud of the continent’s trade harmonisation on Africa. I think our actions would appreciate what Kaunda has done for the southern African community and the continent.”
