The Landless People’s Movement (LPM) has nudged urban and rural development minister, Erastus Utoni, to investigate and get rid of Otjiwarongo management committee chairperson, Gothard Hoko (Swapo) whom they say was illegally appointed to the position.
“Hoko was only nominated by Hilde Noreses (Swapo) on 2 December 2020 but never received any secondment for his election as Chairperson of the Management Committee (see the attached evidence).
“Any nomination that does not obtain a secondment automatically falls away by law and fact. A new nomination was supposed to have been affected. That never happened.
“This, therefore, means that Gothard Hoko is illegally serving as the Chairperson of Otjiwarongo Municipality Management Committee and that all the meetings he has presided over has been illegal, invalid, and has in fact no basis in law, and that all management committee meetings decisions must be declared null and void,” the party’s second in commands, Henny Seibeb.
