President Hage Gingob has travelled to Impalila Island where he has met with the Nchindo family who lost their three relatives in a Botswana Defense Force shooting last year.
The President said he “expressed my condolences to the family and shared the commitment of Government to assist the Nchindo family following the loss of their brothers, husbands and their mother.”
“I informed the family that with President Mokgweetsi Masisi of the Republic of Botswana, we have made good progress to ensure that the residents of Impalila Island and the border area with Botswana remain safe from such senseless killings. I thank the Nchindo family for their unequivocal trust in the approach of of Government after the fatal and senseless shootings of the three brothers and their cousin on 5 November 2020 by the Botswana Defence Force,” he said.
