A Katima Mulilo man is in custody after throwing his three-month-old boy son on top of a roof.
The police say that the man had confronted his girlfriend regarding the boy’s father.
The unnamed man, aged 29, committed the crime in the Choto compound on Friday around 20h00.
He is expected to appear in the Katima Mulilo Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
The body of an unknown man was found in Wanaheda on Saturday at about 02h30 near Havana 4 way stop along Monte Cristo Road.
A passerby, who later informed the police, found the body that had a stab wound on the neck.
The deceased was wearing black jeans and a red t-shirt. No one has been arrested yet in connection with the murder.
Annanias Yambukeni Shilangu (24) was found dead in the Omulamba location, Okongo town, on Saturday at around 22h50.
The police said Shilangu had three stab wounds on the chest and his right shoulder.
His next of kin have been informed, and there have not been any arrests yet.
On Saturday night at about 22h22 in Ongha along the B1 road to Ondangwa, a man driving a Toyota Land Cruiser died on the spot when the car overturned on Saturday.
The police have identified the man as Amos Hamunyela (50).
There were two rape cases reported in Wanaheda on Saturday night.
The first one happened around 05h00 in the Goreangab dam location, where a 31-year-old woman during a sleepover after drinking.
According to the police, the woman went out with friends (three men and another woman). After drinking, the police said, they decided to go sleepover at a friend’s house since it was very late. When the victim woke up in the morning, she was half-naked, and the suspect was also naked.
The victim discovered that she had been sexually assaulted.
The man has not yet been arrested, although the victim knows him.
The second rape case happened on Saturday at about 04h00 in Omutura Street Havana. The police allege that two men took turns to rape a 49-year-old woman.
According to the police, the men also stole N$5 000in cash.
When the men broke into the house, she was alone since her husband and children had travelled to the farm.
The police said the victim was awakened up by a beam of torchlight on her face. When she opened her eyes, she saw two men wearing balaclavas on their faces standing next to her bed.
One of the men had a panga and a torch, while the other had a knife. The men then took turns to rape her before fleeing with the money.
In Omahenene on Friday at about 18h00 at Ombepo location, in Omusati Region, a 38-year-old Angolan man allegedly raped a 13-year-old girl.
The police said the man called the girl into the bathroom inside her father’s house, where he raped her.
The suspect was arrested and is expected to appear on Monday in Outapi Magistrate Court.
Police in Rehoboth arrested a 30-year-old man who raped a woman, aged 39, on Friday in Block E.
According to the police, the man broke into the woman’s house, overpowered her and raped her.
The victim, however, managed to rescue herself by hitting the suspect with an object on his head, causing an open wound.
