Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB) boss, Nangula Uaandja, has been named among 100 Most Influential African Women in 2022 by Avance Media.
The publication lists phenomenal women who have been at the forefront of decision-making both locally and internationally.
The selection criteria for honourees include excellence in leadership and performance, personal accomplishments and commitment to sharing knowledge.
Other Namibian women that have been recognized by the platform include information deputy minister Emma Theofelus in 2020 and First Lady Monica Geingos in 2019.
Uaandja was put to the helm of the NIPDB in January 2021 after serving years as a partner at PwC Namibia.
“Over the years Nangula has grown a burden concerning the triple challenges of unemployment, inequality and poverty that are facing Namibia. It is this burden that led her to pursue further studies (first the Master in Business Leadership and now Doctor in Business Leadership) with focus on the collaborative role required between the public and private sector to drive inclusive economic growth and find common solutions to these challenges.
“It is also this burden that led to her resignation as the Head of PwC Namibia earlier this year and later accepting the President’s appointment to the role of Chief Executive Officer of the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board,” the publication said on her nomination.
