The Swapo Party secretary-general Sophia Shaningwa said Namibians are digging graves and that in the case of any mistakes, there will be a civil war in the country.
Shaningwa said this in an audio that has gone viral on various social networking sites. Eagle FM has sent the audio to five people who have confirmed that the voice is Shaningwa’s.
Eagle FM understands that the audio was posted on a WhatsApp chat group called Engage With Mee Sophia whose link had by late yesterday been revoked.
A message that reads: ‘You can’t join this group because this invite has been revoked’ pops up. Shaningwa did not pick up several calls late Sunday neither did she respond to messages sent to her.
Addressing the WhatsApp chat group members in Oshiwambo, Shaningwa calls herself the mother whose voice is recognisable and can’t be hidden.
“I heard you, my children, I hear your cries and criticism,” she said, adding that the danger was ahead. “Corruption is dangerous. Why do you want to lead but you don’t want to be lead by others?”
It is not clear from the audio who she refers to by saying they want to lead but do not want to be led.
“Do you think people are stupid? If we are not careful Namibias, the danger is ahead. If it was my house I would have ordered those who are rebellious out. I hear you my nation,” she further said.
She also said that she has already spoken that there those bringing problems and that she would say it again.
“I am following there are those calling me names and if I die, one day you will say Sophia said it before. I won’t hide anything, corruption has killed nations, tribalism has brought the war in nations.
“I just want to make it clear that this time, any mistake there’s no front that you will be given, you will have to fight your own war, in your own country. Brother against brother, sword against sword,” she said.

Yes, I listen well fellow Swapo members, It’s your mother speaking. I know that my voice is recognizable and can’t be hidden. I have heard you, my children, I hear your crises and criticism.
I have spoken already that there are those bringing problems and I will say it again. I am following there are those calling me names and if I die, one day you will say Sophia said it before. I won’t hide anything, corruption has killed nations, Tribalism has brought the war in nations. I just want to make it clear that this time, any mistake there’s no front that you will be given, you will have to fight your own war, in your own country. Brother against brother, sword against sword
There will be no one who will be no one who will give you a front in your country just because you are in your free country which at the end of the day will be Civil War.
We are busy digging graves.
Corruption is dangerous. Why do you want to lead but you don’t want to be lead by others. Do you think people are stupid? If we are not careful Namibians, the danger is ahead. If it was my house I would have ordered those who are rebellious out. I hear you my nation.
Let’s speak unity but then there are those who are saying there should not be unity. Why did you lead but you don’t want to be lead by others? Other’s gave support when you lead why can’t you do the same? You take people for fools.
If you want to lead, you are no longer a Swapo member. You want to lead but not be lead, hey Passop. Goodnight.
~Cde Sofia Shaningwa, Secretary-General of the ruling SWAPO Party of Namibia
