PDM leader McHenry Venaani said he visited the Ondonga King Fillemon Shuumbwa Nangolo on Saturday to introduce his party’s incoming members of parliament from the area.
Venaani said this when he addressed the media after meeting the king at Onambango village in Oshana region.
“We are not here for politics. We are here as children from one house,” he said.
Venaani also said his visit would attract propaganda that will reach State House about him trying to take the king to his party.
“We are bigger than tribes. We are bigger than church differences. We are Namibian leaders,” he said.
According to Venaani, Nangolo was his king too and would help with any issues affecting the people in the Ondonga kingdom.
“I will do it. If there is a funeral or marriage that he wants to invite me to I will come because we share a long history and this is how we should build our country,” the PDM leader said.
Venaani said he wanted traditional authorities to work with the political leadership in fighting corruption.
” We must not leave this country bankrupt because of greed. We must all let our people work to have a better country. That is why I am here,” he urged.
