Police Inspector General of the Namibian Police Sebastian Ndeitunga has praised the newly appointed deputy commissioner Kauna Shikwambi saying that she excelled in her roles as the police media liaison and public officer.
Shikwambi was promoted to the rank of deputy commissioner in charge of public relations on Wednesday. She was a chief inspector until her promotion.
Shikwambi takes over from deputy commissioner Edwin Kanguatjivi who is now heading Omaheke police farm.
Ndeitunhga said: “Any promotion means a difference. Any promotion from a lower rank to a higher rank is a very big difference because the benefits of the posts are not the same. This is a promotion based on the performance and commitment of the officer.
“As all of you know very well that Shikwambi has been dealing with the police public relations in a very efficient manner and very dedicated to the profession of media relations,” said Ndeitunga.”
Shimwambi has been in the police force for more than 20 years.
