The Namibia Training Authority CEO Jerry Beukes has resigned.
Beukes whose five-year term was expiring on 31 May 2021 will leave the end of September 2020.
The authority said Beukes is going into project management and private consultancy sector.
A statement released by the authority’s chairperson Amon Ngavetene says Beukes leaves after establishing the NTA as the port of call for technical and vocational skills in the country.
Ngavetene said the board has already informed the ministry higher education and an announcement about an interim and continuity arrangement until such a time that the vacancy is filled will be announced soon.
His commitment, the statement said, has resulted in a wide range of tangible improvements to the country’s technical and vocational education and training sector.
“Sound engagement and the delivery of high-quality TVET services have been hallmarks of his term of office and he leaves the NTA in a strong position for future growth.
