
The Covid-19 cases in Namibia have gone up to 18 from 16 the country has had since March when the two index cases were recorded.
Health minister Dr Kalumbi Shangula told the nation Thursday during the daily report that there were two new cases.
Until now and for more 45 days, Namibia has had no new cases. The country has not also recorded any deaths as a result of Covid-19.
Dr Shangula said case 17 is of a 66-year-old woman and a 28-year-old woman who is case 18.
Both were tested while in quarantine, Dr Shangula said, adding that both do not have any Covid-19 symptoms. In addition, the minister said both are in stable conditions.
According to Dr Shangula, both women came to Namibia from South Africa.
