The Zimbabwean couple Edward Nketa and his wife Caroline who are the main suspects in the murder of a 10-year-old girl whose badly burnt body was found dumped in a skip bi in Windhoek were arrested Sunday afternoon
The body of the unidentified girl was found in the skip bin in Windhoek West on Saturday night.
Nketa and his wife were arrested just outside Otjiwarongo at the Okakarara turn off while on their way to Zimbabwe.
Deputy commissioner Kauna Shikwambi told Eagle FM that the police had arrested one suspect believed the girl’s mother.
Shikwambi also said that the police were looking for other people who stayed at the same house where Nketa and his family stayed.
She had, earlier on Sunday, appealed to the public to help with information that could lead to the arrest of Nketa and his wife.
At the time of their arrest, Nketa was travelling together with his family that included a baby girl and two boys aged 8 and 11 years old.
Shikwambi also said that there is a video showing the couple dragging a wheelie bin with the body of the girl inside on Friday night at about 21h00.
