Police said David Kido (52) was found dead in his bed on 4 Jan 2020 at the Windhoek Central Correctional Facility at about 07h00.
Kido was serving a 34-year long term for raping and killing his teenage stepdaughter at Mariental in 2013.
Kido told the court in 2016 that he accidentally hit his stepdaughter Izelda Kock (18) on the side of her head with a knobkierie.
He also said that he tried to hide the crime by buryingKock’s body before he burnt her clothes.
Kido also reported to the police that Kock was missing from Jakkalsfotenin farm where the incident.
Jakkalsfontein farm is between Mariental and Gibeon.
After his arrest, Kido showed the police where he had buried Kock’s body.
