The man accused of killing his girlfriend and burning the body in a shack on Sunday in Katutura, Windhoek, was arrested Monday night.
Police deputy commissioner Edwin Kanguatjivi confirmed the arrest Tuesday, saying the man was in hospital receiving treatment for the burns he got from the shack fire.
Identified as Simon Amana, the 38-year-old had been on run since Sunday when neighbours woke up to find the shack burnt and later discovered that Katrina Silas’ body had been burnt.
On further inspection, the neighbours also discovered that Katrina had a pick axe stuck in her neck.
