A well-known house breaker from Katutura was kidnapped by a group of criminals on Saturday, the police reported.
The police also opened a case of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm alongside kidnapping charges against the group.
The notorious criminal was beaten and then stabbed before he was forced into a car.
“He was apparently locked in the boot of a seven seater and was later found dropped off somewhere at Otjomuise area in a critical condition. He was later taken to the Katutura hospital,” the police said.
The injured man is also a wanted man in a robbery that took place in Windhoek in a case registered CR 27 / 03/2019.
In a separate incident a 20-year-old man was stabbed and robbed of N$30.00, two cellphones and a cap after he allegedly gave a lift to two men aged 23 and 29 years old from Epuku to Etilasa village on Sunday.
Upon arrival at Etillisa village one of the suspects allegedly drew an Okapi knife and stabbed the driver twice in the right arm. The suspects then took the vehicle from the driver and drove him to an area where they robbed him.
They then pushed the victim out of the vehicle and drove off.
It is reported that the suspects abandoned the vehicle in the bush before fleeing by foot.
They were arrested and are in police custody, while all items and the vehicle were recovered.
