Electoral challenge case postponed to 17 Jan.

The case in which five presidential candidates want the Supreme Court to nullify the results of the 2019 elections has been postponed to 17 Jan. 2020.
The five are Dr Panduleni Itula, independent candidate, Mike Kavekotora (RDP), Henk Mudge (RP), Ignatius Shixwameni (APP) and Epras Mukwiilongo (NEFF).
Urban development minister is the first respondent, while Geingob is the fifth respondent in the application.
They are demanding that the court directs the holding of fresh presidential elections compliant with the Constitution and the Electoral Act without undue delay; that the use of voting machines be set aside; that the 2019 presidential election and the formal declaration made on 30 Nov. be set aside.
The urgent application dated 11 Dec. comes after Dr Itula’s lawyer Elize Angula had, on 9 Dec. ordered the ECN to surrender documents and several other items used as well as names of polling officers.
In its response to Angula, the ECN denied that they denied Dr Itula or his agents access to any electoral material.
Dr Itula has already lost two urgent court application regarding the use of voting machines. The first was in the Electoral Tribunal and then in the Electoral Court.
This is, however, the first time Kavekotora, Shixwameni, Mukwiilongo and Mudge have teamed up with Dr Itula to contest the 2019 elections
