Mobile Telecommunications (MTC) has assured the Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair Preparatory Committee (OATF-PC) of its commitment to continue being the main sponsor of the fair.
This was done through a sponsorship amount of N$385,000, during a gala dinner hosted in the northern town of Ongwediva over the weekend.
As a result, MTC remained the official main sponsor of the trade fair.
Speaking at the event, MTC’s public relations officer, Erasmus Nekundi highlighted the need and importance of continuing to create an enabling environment that encourages and promotes entrepreneurship.
Nekundi added that the mobile company acknowledges the economic contribution of the gathering in the northern region through various channels.
“Over the past 15 years, our support to the OATF has been resolute, and this is mainly because we recognise the value which the event brings in terms of business stimulation, employment and wealth creation, and ultimately to the national economic build-up of our country.
Nekundi motivated their sponsorship, stating that the OATF serves as a trailblazer in creating a safe space for exchanging business ideas, promoting trade, and creating for businesses a direct channel to the market.
He added that MTC’s support is indicative of the company’s commitment to aiding the advent of small and medium business development, concurrently, allowing established macro businesses to reach out and take their product and service offerings to the market.
Nekundi has also acknowledged the Ongwediva Town Council, and the OATF preparatory committee for providing an enabling environment for companies through partnership.
“We are confident that this year’s edition of the OATF is yet again going to be another milestone,” he stated
Hosted annually, OATF has been a hallmark for promoting entrepreneurial activities in the central northern region and is to date recognised as one of the country’s biggest business exhibiting platforms.
For this year, the platform has attracted interest from over 400 exhibitors from across the country and SADC.
As per the norm, the annual event is scheduled to take place in August. Email: erastus@thevillager.com.na
