Man conspires to murder lover

A man and his friend who conspired to murder his girlfriend appeared in the Windhoek Magistrate’s court last week. The due, Ricardo Groenemeyer, 41, and Ryno Lewin, 28, appeared on charges of conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder (assault) under The Rioteus Assembly Act 13 of 1956.

According to the police, Groenemeyer convinced his friend to kill a woman he was in a domestic relationship with, on 4 July last year. The conspiracy took place in Khomasdal’s extension 16, where the they stabbed the woman with a knife with the intension of killing her.

Court documents do however not specify the reason behind the attempted murder or conspiring. Both accused are currently out of police custody on N$5000 bail each. They are due to appear in court again on 17 March, for plea
