Standard Bank Namibia (SBN) has appointed Amit Mohan as Head of Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB).
In his new role, Amit is responsible for developing, executing and managing the CIB Namibia strategy.
Amit was previously serving as Standard Bank Namibia’s Executive Head of Investment Banking within CIB Department since July 2009 and has led Standard Bank in concluding transactions including Joint Book runner to Namibia’s inaugural Eurobond, Lead Arranger to DebMarine and NamPort’s acquisition finance facilities and Standard Bank Namibia’s N$10-billion Structured Notes Programme.
His career spans 15 years having held various positions in Namibia Asset Management and NamPower.
Amit is a qualified Chartered Accountant having trained with Grant Thornton Neuhaus Namibia and has also held a number of memberships and directorships in his career namely Board Trustee of Standard Bank’s Retirement Fund, NamPower International Board of Directors, Namibian Fisheries Observer Agency Board Director and currently a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Namibia and Public Accountants and Auditors Board.
His other academic qualifications comprise a Senior Management Programme with the University of Stellenbosch (2007), Post Graduate Diploma in Auditing from the University of Cape Town (2006), Bachelor of Commerce Honours from the University of Natal (2004) and a Bachelor of Accounting Science from the University of South Africa (2001).
