The Namibian rugby national side, the Welwitschias will play South

Africa's Vodacom side, DHL Western Province this coming

Saturday at the Hage Geingob Stadium at 14H00.

The team is currently preparing for the tour to Madagascar for the

CAR 1A tournament which serves as the final round of qualifying

matches for the Rugby World Cup (RWC) 2015 in London.

Jacques Burger who last played for Namibia in the RWC 2011,

had withdrawn due to injury sustained while on duty for his club

Saracens.

The leadership of the senior players in the squad who have been

leading the team since the last RWC in 2011, will thus be vital for

success in Madagascar.

The match against the DHL Western Province will be a good test

for coach Danie Vermeulen and his troops ahead of the CAR 1A

tournament.

The team for the match against the Western Province will be:

The final squad of 26 players to represent Namibia in Madagascar

will be announced next week, prior to the Welwitschias’ next match

against the Vodacom Bulls next Saturday, 21 June, 16:00 at the

Hage Geingob Stadium.

Supporters jerseys and balls are already on sale will go on sale at

the NRU office.
