First lady to receive TIAW award

Penehupifo Pohamba, first lady of the Republic of Namibia and patron
of Maternal and Child Health Agenda in Namibia is in Washington DC, in
the United States (US) to receive the 2013 TIAW World of Difference
Award.

The International Alliance of Women World of difference (TIAW) each
year recognises recipients who have advanced the economic empowerment
of women, whether on a small scale in the developing world or effected
change in the boardrooms of the business capitals of the world.

The First Lady is amongst 100 personalities from 35 countries who will
be honoured with the award.

She is expected back in Namibia on the 31st March, where she will
arrive at the Hosea Kutako International Airport in the morning, where
the general public, diplomatic corps, development partners are invited
to welcome her.
