Three year old raped, 4 die at weekend

a three year old boy was raped by a relative at Uuwandi – Wewa village in the Omusati region on Saturday at around 15:00 hours.
 The 16 year old suspect was alone with the victim inside the home; the victim was screaming for help but his cries were unheard by his grandmother who was sleeping outside under a tree.
 The boy later narrated the event to his grandmother who alerted the police.
The suspect has been arrested and is due to appear in the Okahao magistrate court. The victim was taken to the hospital were a doctor confirmed the rape.
In the Caprivi region, a man believed to be 20 years old died after being attacked by a hippo on Friday.
The deceased and his friend were fishing at around 20:00 pm when the incident took place.  The deceased was bitten by the hippo before being thrown into the water and died on the spot, his body was later recovered at the scene.  
The incident took place in the Linyanti district and the companion of the deceased escaped unhurt.
A 30 year old taxi driver died in a head on collision on the road between Swakopmund and Walvis Bay on Saturday at around 15:20 hours.
The deceased who died on the spot collided with a Nissan Navara about 10 kilometers outside Swakopmund.  The driver of the Navara fled the scene and no arrest has been made.  
Also in the Erongo region, a 31 year-old man died after being stabbed with a kitchen knife on Saturday. The deceased was fatally stabbed by his cousin who was identified as Martin Kakoko and who instead turned himself in to the police.
In the Ohangwena region, a driver of Toyota Hilux lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a palm tree. The driver was seriously injured and a passenger; 23 year-old Leonard Mwayiteko died on the spot; her next of kin have been informed.
Five armed men wearing masks  armed with guns broke into the Woermann Brock supermarket in Tsumeb on Friday at around 18:00 hours.   
The suspects ordered the employees of the shop to lie down on the floor and demanded money and the safe keys. The suspects got away with N$ 49 000; one of the suspects, a 24 year old male was arrested and is being detained; investigations in the case are currently ongoing.
