Meek is new operations head at SBN

Standard Bank Namibia (SBN) has appointed Richard Meeks as their Head of Operations as effective from 1 June. 

Surihe Gaomas, Corporate Communications manager at Standard Bank Namibia says Meeks held the same position from 2005-2008 and has been a member of the Standard Bank Namibia team since 1991.

Prior to his re-appointment Meeks served as the group’s senior manager, within the strategic process re-engineering department within the Personal and Business Bank in South Africa. During this period he participated in re-engineering the end-to-end cash processes as well as the design and initiation of the merchant acquiring unit.

Gaomas says Meeks was re-appointed because he is a highly experienced and seasoned banker and worked in the Operations environment for many years.

He therefore understands the front to end operations of the bank and its processes. He is also highly technically astute and has successfully managed in his role as project director of core banking at SBN.

Meeks Boasts a range of qualifications which include a Post Graduate Management Diploma from UNISA obtained in 2001, as well as a Diploma in factors chain international through the institution Factors Chain International. He  Underwent courses in the following; South African Foreign Trade Organisation, - Derivative Investment,  Damelin Advanced Credit Management Programme,  Financial Exchange, Management Credit Assessment, Advancement Management Programme.
