A Windhoek man, who is on trial in the Katutura courts, appeared in his own defence for rape charges.Silvanus Hoveka was arrested on 9 September 2009 after a 15 year old physically challenged girl had reported him for raping her on two separate occasions, 4 and 5 September in 2009. The first alleged incident took place on 4 September when Hoveka allegedly forced the girl down in an unnamed Katutura location and raped her. According to the complainant, he allegedly repeated the same act with her the next day in at a different place. Hoveka, however, pleaded not guilty to both counts of rape telling the court that he was not around when the alleged incident took place..He told the court this weeek that he does not know the complainant and that he did not rape her.mHoveka is currently out on N$3000 bail but will be returning to the regional court for continuation of trial.
