Mbala Fransisco (52) and Hulda Swartbooi (34) were arrested in Katutura late last month for possession of and dealing in prohibited drugs.
The pair was in possession of more than 2000 grams of cannabis when the police picked them up from Nama Location on 29th of last month. The cannabis is valued at N$2 040. However, it has not been established whether the two were buying or selling the drugs.
They both told the court that they would be legally representing themselves. Swartbooi is currently out on a N$1000 bail while Francisco has been denied bail because he is a non-Namibian.
The case is still being investigated and the pair will return to court at the end of this year when an update shall be provided to the court on the progress of investigations by the investigating officers in charge of their case.
