Soldier dumps wife for school girl

a Keetmanshoop Namibian Defence Force (NDF) member, Albertus Kgobetsi, 45, has wrecked his marriage to wife of five years and the mother to his two daughters, Eveline Kgobetsi, 32, for a teenager, Cynthia van Wyk.
Eveline said her marriage started hitting the rocks towards the end of last year because of her husband’s affair with Cynthia who lives a few houses from theirs.
What Eveline treated as a neighbourhood rumour, became a heart-rending reality in a short space of time when a female friend of hers witnessed Kgobetsi and Cynthia kissing inside his car.
“My friend told me about it but it took me a while to pluck up the courage to confront him. He denied everything and became really upset with me. We didn’t talk for days and after that, he didn’t make it a secret that he was seeing the girl,” said Eveline.
She said Albertus became so obsessed with the teenager that he’d call out her name in his sleep.
“It was terrible. How do you, as a woman, cope with your husband calling out a teenager’s name in his sleep? It was so painful that it started affecting my studies. I was no longer the same person,” said Cynthia who is furthering her studies with the University of South Africa (Unisa).
She said news about her husband’s infidelity became public and she almost plunged into the depths of stress.
“I just had to move out of the house. I couldn’t take it anymore. The love was not there anymore and I had to move back to my flat (that I had been renting out since I married him),” said Eveline, adding that she has since filed for divorce.
When reached for comment, Albertus confirmed having an affair with Cynthia, but denied that she is the reason for his marital problems. He also insisted she will not be moving in with him as per the rumours.
“Yes, we had a little thing going on; it’s one of those things that men do. A lot of men do it, it’s not like I’m the first and that’s all I can tell you. I can assure you that she’s not the reason why we are divorcing and it’s also not true that she’s moving in with me,” said Albertus, who failed to give the real reason for the divorce.
When quizzed about her relationship with Albertus, Cynthia denied being a home-wrecker and claimed she has a boyfriend in Windhoek.
“What are you talking about? He’s just my friend. I have a boyfriend who works in Windhoek and there is no way that is ever possible. I don’t go to school anymore and I have better things to do with my life than go after people’s men. Please don’t call me again,” Cynthia said before she hung up the phone.
