NamPol January drug busts valued at N$1.8m


The Namibian Police Force took into its custody drugs worth N$1 852 100 from the 1st to the 31st of January this year.


These drug busts involved a total of 78 people who were arrested, including 5 foreign nationals.


Of the suspects 57 are Namibian men, six Namibian women, one Zambian man, one Angolan woman, and three Angolan men.


The seized drugs include cannabis weighing 62.1Kg valued at N$ 1 241 800, 4 895 Mandrax tables valued at N$587 400, cocaine powder weighing 35 grams valued at N$17 500 and 54 units of crack cocaine valued at N$5 400.


During the festive season, police made drug busts that uncovered products with a street value of N$4 845 790, also taking 73 Namibians into its custody.


 Four Zambian nationals and one South African were arrested for drug-related charges during the same period.
