Kautondokwa stares at world title in the face

The World Boxing Organisation has rated the undefeated Walter Kautondokwa number 2 after the US boxer, Demetrius Cesar Andrade.

Kautondokwa has a record win of 13-0 with 12 KOs, while Andrade is a two-time former light middleweight world champion.

Nestor Tobias of the Sunshine Boxing Academy that signed Kautondokwa believes that his protégé would finally get a chance to fight for the WBO Middleweight world title.

Andrade is scheduled to fight the WBO world champion, Billy Joe Saunders, on 20th October at the TD Garden in Boston, USA.

As soon as they step in the ring, Nestor expects the WBO to declare Kautondokwa, the mandatory challenger at number 1.

“I am happy with the progress Kautondokwa has made so far, it has been a long journey, and I am confident that the WBO will declare him the mandatory challenger as soon as Billy Saunders and Andrade steps in the ring.

"Whoever wins will have no choice but to face Kautondokwa. They have been avoiding him for a long time now, but the time has now come that they will have to face him whether they like it or not and we are looking forward to that day” said Nestor.

Nestor believes that such a fight could happen in the 1st quarter of 2019 and he plans for another tune-up fight for Kautondokwa to keep him in shape.

“I know that Kautondokwa is the future of the Middleweight division. His work rate and disciplined has been incredibly high, and I cannot wait for him to make the most of such an opportunity and become Namibia’s 5th world champion.”

Walter Kautondokwa remains undefeated after 17 fights and is proudly promoted by the MTC Nestor Sunshine Promotions.
