Karas and Omaheke to compete in Skorpion Zinc Under17 Cup final
Karas and Omaheke Regions will contest the final of the Skorpion Zinc Under17 Cup underway at Omulunga Stadium in Grootfontein after winning their respective semi-finals on Monday.
The third-place playoff match will be played between Otjozondjupa and Erongo before the curtain finally comes down with the crowing of champions set to take place after the matches.
Altogether 55 goals have been scored so far in 28 matches that were played at this year’s tournament with two more games left.
Host Otjozondjupa looked like going all the way but were stopped in their tracks by a determined Karas Region who defeated them 2-0 with goals from Dandre Both and Desmond Christains and both players also walked away with the Man of the Match awards.
Omaheke and Erongo met again at the tournament and this time with the final calling and goalless after regulation time.
Omaheke boys emerged victories on penalties after beating their opponents 4-1 thanks to their goalkeeper Vejora Katjatenja heroics in the shootout.
Katjatenja walked away with the Man of the Match award.
