Guard accidentally pulls trigger, injures six

A case of attempted murder and negligent handling of a fire arm have been opened against a 23-year-old security guard for Omeya Investments Security Company who injured six construction workers after accidently pulling the trigger.

 The incident happened at about 15h54 at B1 service station in the Northern Industrial area and   the security guard was on guard duties at the service station, armed with a shotgun.

While allegedly making safe his gun, he accidentally pulled the trigger and fired one bullet that injured six construction workers who were passing by.

One victim sustained serious facial injuries whilst others sustained minor injuries.

The suspect has been arrested and police investigations continue.

In another case on Saturday 04 August 2018 at 08h00; the body of Manneti Frederick, 28 years of age was found at her boyfriend's address in Khaubeb location, Aus.

It is alleged that the victim was stabbed with an unknown object and sustained multiple wounds on the head and face.

The suspect Fransicuis Andries, who is 32 years old has been arrested and appeared yesterday in Court.

Police investigations continue.

In Katima Mulilo it is alleged that an unknown suspect shot a person with a firearm on the right shoulder and fled the scene.

The motive behind the incident is unknown and the victim is currently admitted at Katima Mulilo State hospital in a stable condition.
