Nedbank Namibia in Kapana cook-off competition has kicked off for the northern-regions at Ondangwa last week.

The competition has started off on a joyful note and participants could not wait to start preparing their best Kapana meat dishes, Meatco’s sales representative of Northern Communal Areas, Polykarpus Matti has said.

“The competition was driven by a spirit of team work fostered by all stakeholders adding to the success of the competition. The Meatco team was also overwhelmed with pride to have sponsored meat for the event and to be part of the market leaders that are contributing to the development of the future generation through Kapana vending,” Matti said.

He added that the competition was held in conjunction with MeatMa; Namibia Chefs Federation; Pick n Pay and Bakpro.

According to Matti all the sponsors are locked down in anticipation to see who will go through to the finals which are expected to take place at Windhoek in August after a preliminary round currently being held all over the country.

“All entrants in the cook-off hope to win the coveted prize of MeatMa shopping voucher worth N$5000; a fully fledged Kapana container shop along with Nedbank account worth N$15 000 cash balance and a SME training and mentorship programme,” Matti noted.
