SSC N$30m fraud gang sentenced

The High Court today sentenced Paulus Kapia, Inez Gases and Ralph Blaauw to pay a fine of  N$60 000 or serve a three-year term of which two years are suspended for five years on condition that they are not convicted of  fraud during the period of suspension.

They were convicted in the long drawn out saga over the plunder of N$30 million in Social Security Commission money.

Sharon Blaauw was sentenced to pay an N$8 000 fine or serve six months in prison.

Nico Josea was sentenced to serve 17 years for theft and two years on the contravention of the companies Act. His sentences will be served concurrently.
