The waiting is almost over as middleweight WBO Africa Title contenders, Walter “The Executioner” Kautondokwa and Argentina’s Billi Godoy came face to face weighing each other up at Post Street Mall in the capital ahead of their fight at the Independence Boxing Bonanza on the 20th of March at Ramatex complex.

The Executioner was in good spirits and said even though the Argentine had experience he was not quite bothered by that.

“I am feeling really happy (about) this fight and I welcome Godoy. I do not know about him that much but I checked his fights on YouTube, he is a good boxer. He has a ring experience but that does not bother me. I am going to do my best as always,” he said.

He could not however say whether he was looking forward to an early KO, saying that he was ready to take him down all the way.

“Like I said I do not underestimate my opponents because he came to also fight and he came for a win so I am ready to go for a full fight. I am ready to go 12 rounds," he said.

The bout means so much for the boxer who has the task not to disappoint the three presidents, to whom the fight has been dedicated in the spirit of celebrating Namibia’s independence.

“It really means a lot because it is a legacy fight. When we talk about a legacy fight where we are mentioning our founding father, Sam Nujoma our first president and our second president and the current president as well, it’s really important for me to win this fight,” he said.
