One year old drowns at Olukonda

The Namibian Police at Onamungundo village near Olukonda in Oshikoto region reported a case in which a 1 year old boy drowned on Monday.

According to the police the toddler was left unattended by an aunt, who went to work in an Omahangu field.

The police did not go in detail to explain the source of the water but said that a post-mortem will be conducted.

In a separate incident, the Otjiwarongo police opened an inquest when the body of an unidentified person was found at farm Otjiwa Lodge.

On Sunday, the remains of a person were found by a farm worker who was searching for mushrooms in the field.

The remains however only consisted of a skull, arm and thigh bone while a blue pair of trousers and short pants were found in the vicinity of the remains.

The police said that it will conduct a DNA test and that investigations will continue.
