Jericho to release album, mixtape and four videos

by Rosalia David

Rapper Jericho Gawanab will be releasing a 17-track mixtape and a 14-track album including four brand new music videos this year to mark a continuous strong come back to music.

The artist who recently dropped a new single ‘Huzit’, said he will be investing more in music this year, as he now owns a new studio.

“I released Huzit three days ago, a song which basically just talks about my hood and giving a shout out to everyone. It is just a fun party song,” he said.

Jericho told Vibe that he has invested the money he won from the previous Namibian Annual Music Awards (NAMA’s) in his new studio and is ready to master every knot.

“The reason why I have been quiet for a while is because I was learning how to produce, the Huzit song has been mixed and mastered by myself. I won’t be rapping for the rest for my life so I decided why not learn a few things and when the right time comes I move over,” he explained.

When asked whether he will take part in this year’s music awards, he said he has not entered because he did not meet the requirements.

“I haven’t entered for this year’s NAMAs because I did not have any material out but I will definitely be part of the next one. I did not want to make the mistake of releasing an album in a rush for the NAMAs,” he said.

With his new album coming up, Jericho said he will be releasing a mixtape titled ‘Paper Chasing’ first before dropping the album.

The Mixtape consist of hardcore hip hop tracks, while his upcoming album will have a fusion of RnB and Hip-hop tracks.

Jericho said, “I want to release the album exactly after the NAMAs while the mixtape will be out in March. I am planning on featuring at least three ladies on the album.”

The artists he aims to jump on a track with are songstress Tequila, Adora, Bradley Antoney and Dixon.

“I have not been in contact with Dixon for a while now, so, it will be great if we do a song together and one person I have always wanted to work with is Bradley,” he noted.
