Paradox has just released a 4:45 minute music video for their single, Jive Zaak, a song that tells the story of the every day struggle for a young man trying to make it in music.
Jive Zaak is a slang word for cab fare.
The music video, which is set on drama unfolding around a struggling artist can be a hit or miss depending on how seriously you take comedy in music videos.
The duo, Cassidy Karon and Toufi Ekandjo also won a music award as the most popular act at the 2015 Namibia Annual Music Awards, back when everyone's question was: Who are these kids?
They have however proven that they are not here for a one-hit wonder as they have stayed active in music, even after high school.
Their new music video which was released less than a week ago was shot with a storyline following the life of a mini shop lad whose grind is different from everyone else's. The video currently has over 5 600 views and stands at 385 likes.
The music video which dips its toes in comedy alos introduces a pimp named Axab who comes looking for Toufi, his mini shop boy.
The scene quickly transforms fromToufi’s world at home to his daily struggle at his job with demanding customers before Cassidy comes in with ‘My cherrie via Ek moet haar uit vat’.
As a studio artist Toufi continues to demonstrate the challenges most local artists face in a competitive industry and encourages those who aspire to make it in music.
In the video, they also demonstrate how some women only start showing an interest when you start making it in life.
The duo also released two mix tapes last year which fans are still getting to know.
Even though the song is short, the storyline is good, and the scenes are clean.
The indirect message speaks to most of us who are tired of doing jobs we do not like just because bills need to get paid.
It has a right message which is straightforward, not to give up on your dreams regardless of how complicated the process might be.
Paradox brought their A game on delivery and have shown maturity in the amount of creativity that went into the production of this little music film.
It is five stars from us
